Spring Essentials: Fashion

Although it might feel like summer is here (because the semester is finally over), we still have about six weeks until the season’s official arrival, so spring is in full-swing. Here are some spring essentials to get you through the wet and unpredictable days in style. And, almost everything on this list is under $50!

I tend to think that most people have a lot of transitional pieces that easily take them through the spring season, so a major shopping spree isn’t necessary. Instead, investing in a few key pieces can set you up for style success.

This T Shirt Dress is under $30 and comes in other colors and perfect for easy layering when on-the-go.

Spring is a great time to add a few new accessories and BaubleBar is always my go-to spot. Right now, they’re having a promo where if you buy 1 item, you can save 20% with code SAVE 20, if you get 2 items, you save 25% (SAVE 25) and you can save 30% on 3 or more items (SAVE30) so why not add a new necklace or some statement earrings to your spring rotation?

The right scarf is a necessity in spring weather. You’re going in and out of buildings that haven’t figured out whether they’re running the heat or A/C yet, and sometimes the temps drop ten degrees in a few hours. This lightweight scarf is not only cute, but practical and under $40. It also comes in two other patterns.

Now on to my favorite things – bags and shoes! Spring is wet and can be sloppy, so you want to be off the ground a bit, which is why I never wear flip flops in the spring, and save my flats for dry days. A great pair of chunky heels like these ($89 and also come in black), or a good wedge is the best option.

When you’re not toting all of your stuff around, this crossbody bag for $42 is a cute option for the spring because it can handle a little sprinkle, and still fit all of your essentials while keeping your hands free. It also comes in a stunning light blue color.

Last but definitely not least, is a great jean jacket ($35). It’s easy to toss this on and know you’ll still be warm and stylish. Old Navy is always my first stop when I need things like this, and they have tons of choices. I like to stick with white because it pairs easily with any type of jeans and works well with dresses, especially the t-shirt dress shown above!

  1. I love that jacket (and the price.) I really need to invest in a few pieces to step my fashion game up. I’ve slipped into a “mom” style…which usually means my most used accessory is dry shampoo lol.
