Hi friends! Today I’m sharing how simple (and fun!) it is to style a little black dress for winter. These three styles can easily take you from work to play and the options are almost endless!
Here’s the base. I bought my dress from Old Navy in October but it’s no longer offered so I’ve linked some similar ones above. I love it because it’s a flattering shift style and short enough to be fun, but long enough to be appropriate, especially with tights. The three-quarter sleeves are so versatile and the v-neck flatters everyone. It’s a winter staple for me.

One of my favorite ways to style this dress is with tights and a fur vest. I love these nude tights and the red shoe makes this outfit perfect for a night out. (Sorry about my photo-bomber!) 😉
I found my vest a while ago at Nordstrom Rack, so a similar one is linked. I see them all the time at TJ Maxx and similar shops, in lots of fun color combos, like this and this.
The second way I styled this is perfect for NYE! I am not a fan of wearing a tight, short, skimpy NYE dress, especially since it’s always so cold. Throwing on a sequin jacket is a great alternative. It pairs perfectly with a red lip and a flute of champs, too! If I didn’t already have a sequin jacket, I’d definitely pick up this one.

This last style is my personal favorite because it’s easy and comfortable, perfect for work. Any scarf instantly pulls an outfit together, and in my life, leopard is a neutral. I paired it with a gold belt so I’d have a little shape. Since I’m short (5’3 on a good day) I’ll take all the help I can get. I also LOVE black booties with black tights. It has the same elongating effect as a nude pump with a bare leg, but it’s a great winter alternative.
I hope this post inspires you a little bit this winter, thanks for reading!
Love the ideas!! Great photography and beautiful model!
