I love shoes. I love heels, flats, wedges, sandals, you name it, I love it. Until I saw lace/tie up shoes. I was confused. Most of them looked cute, but I just had so many questions – will they accentuate my cankles? What should I wear them with? How should I tie them? The list went on. (Tell me I’m not the only one who spends this much time thinking about shoes!) But, in February I saw a really cute pair of gold lace up flats at Old Navy, and gave them a try. Now, I am a lace up shoe lover, especially for Spring! Here’s how I style them and a bunch of my favorites (all under $150) for you. 🙂

I love them most when they are styled with skinny jeans and skirts/dresses. They can add such a fun punch to a look, especially a super casual look, like the pictured flatlay. If you’re going to wear them, you might as well show them off, so that’s why they look so great with skirts and dresses. I love them with skinny jeans because it shows just enough of the lace up to make it seem endless.
I typically tie mine to look really seamless using a small knot on the inside of my ankle. But, if you love a big cute bow, go for it! The shoes with tassles are so cute and would go great with shorts and tank tops this summer. Do you love lace up shoes, hate them, or wanna try them? Let me know!
