The beginning of the new year is officially over so that means we can all get back to setting realistic goals and giving ourselves some grace (if you’ haven’t been already). Goal setting can be extremely overwhelming, but it is a key to success when done correctly. I set daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals. If you think that sounds like a lot, you’re right! But, each goal helps reach a larger one. Here are my 5 tips for effective goal setting:

A (dog friendly) Weekend in Charleston
Happy March! Over the weekend my husband and I drove down to Charleston, SC for a long weekend getaway. Two of our friends from Chicago met us there and we had a blast. We even brought our dog, so I have lots to share with you. Let me just start by saying, Charleston is everything good everyone says it is. We were not disappointed! It’s the perfect mix of southern hospitality and a busy city, something that two Chicago transplants love. Not to mention all the incredible food, sights, and shops. Here’s how we spent our weekend eating, sleeping, and playing.

5 Tips for Working from Home
Happy Hump Day! I’m excited to share this post with you as the beginning of an ongoing series about managing your career. I’ll share more details about this with you next week! 🙂

I do not have a traditional work from home job where I need to be online from 8-5, nor do I work from home on a regular basis or schedule. My job requires a lot of self-discipline and internal motivation. Aside from teaching, I set my own schedule and my own deadlines (for the most part). So, I’m forced to figure out how to motivate myself and for a homebody, that means figuring out how to be productive without being in my formal office. Here are my 5 tips, I’d love to know what works for you!
