Happy New Year, friends! I’m still in vacation mode and not back home and back to work just yet. But, I’m excited to ease into the year a little bit. I did a poll last night on Instagram Stories and got a resounding YES to doing a 2017 highlight post – so here ya go!
Buongiornio! I wanted to share the last of my Italian adventure with you today. We only spent two nights in Rome and I’m already wondering when I can get back. They were quick but jam-packed days. Here are some of my favorite snaps!
Hey friends! It’s another rainy day here so it’s a good time to reflect on my weekend in Siena, Italy. Rather than share all of the details with you, I’m going to let the pictures do the talking. But, if you’re not familiar with Siena it’s near Tuscany and it’s a small and vivacious village! It also has a very unique tradition which you can read about here.
Hey friends! I’m back today with another travel diary for you and this is a good one! You may remember that earlier this summer I spent a month in Europe with half the time for work and the other half for play. During that time I went to Lausanne, Switzerland and then met my parents and husband in Zurich, Switzerland. After Zurich, we took the train to Lake Como, Italy (specifically Tremezzo) for three nights and it was incredible!
Hello! I hope you all had a relaxing long weekend. I’m struggling to feel normal the last few days of this week, so reliving some of my time in Switzerland seems like the perfect distraction. I spent one long weekend in Zurich with my parents and my husband. This trip came immediately after my teaching ended and at the beginning of my parent’s/husband’s Euro trip, so we tried to balance relaxation with our sightseeing.
Hi from Switzerland! Today I have a great weekend recap for you about the two nights I spent in Lausanne, which is a town outside of Geneva. For those of you that don’t already know, I’m in Switzerland for a few weeks leading a study abroad trip with 10 students. We spent Thursday night and Friday in Geneva, and then had a free weekend to travel, so I ventured over to Lausanne, and I loved it!
Ciao friends! It’s been a wonderful few days in Switzerland so far. I’m writing this blog post while the scent of fresh lilac fills my Swiss apartment, so amazing. But, travel abroad can be tricky and tiring, so I wanted to pop in to share my top 5 travel essentials to make the trip more comfortable.
Happy March! Over the weekend my husband and I drove down to Charleston, SC for a long weekend getaway. Two of our friends from Chicago met us there and we had a blast. We even brought our dog, so I have lots to share with you. Let me just start by saying, Charleston is everything good everyone says it is. We were not disappointed! It’s the perfect mix of southern hospitality and a busy city, something that two Chicago transplants love. Not to mention all the incredible food, sights, and shops. Here’s how we spent our weekend eating, sleeping, and playing.
Hello, my friends. I hope you’re still enjoying a nice holiday break. We are in the middle of packing up our apartment, preparing to move for NYE! So, I think it goes without saying, I’m happy to relive our beautiful weekend in Kohler, Wisconsin.
Last weekend my husband and I had the pleasure of spending two nights in the Smoky Mountains, thanks to a Groupon I found in August. This was the perfect weekend getaway and had a great mix of different things to do as a couple, despite the area being very family-friendly. Here’s a recap of our stay, some travel tips, and a few downsides. If you’ve been to the area, let me know what you did. We are already looking forward to another trip to the Smoky’s!
