Cinnamon Christmas Cider

After our trip to the Smoky Mountains we came home with some delicious cinnamon moonshine. It is much stronger, and more pure than Fireball, so you can enjoy it without simultaneously drinking anti-freeze. 😉

It’s simple to make and you can serve it hot or cold. We made it cold, but if you make it hot, omit the champagne top-off. It would be great in a pitcher or crock pot for a party!

Holiday Home Tour

I am SO excited to share today’s post with you. We are currently living in an apartment while we wait for our townhome to be finished, so I figured I’d make the best of it and transform our place into a winter wonderland. I tend to keep my holiday decor pretty neutral and more wintery than Christmas themed which is great for our smaller space.

All my sources are linked where possible. I hope you enjoy!

Cast Iron 101

Welcome back – I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Let me preface this post by clearly stating I am not a cook, a chef, or any other iteration of a cooking pro. For me, cooking is a means to an end and I don’t find the joy in cooking that so many others do. However, I LOVE cast iron! It cooks food quickly and adds a ton of flavor, plus the clean up is easy and when maintained properly, can last a lifetime.

Over the Thanksgiving break though, I realized through my mom that not everyone understands how to properly use or care for cast iron, so I put together a few quick tips for you and an infographic for faster reference:

Travel Diary: Smoky Mountain Weekend

how-to-design

Last weekend my husband and I had the pleasure of spending two nights in the Smoky Mountains, thanks to a Groupon I found in August. This was the perfect weekend getaway and had a great mix of different things to do as a couple, despite the area being very family-friendly. Here’s a recap of our stay, some travel tips, and a few downsides. If you’ve been to the area, let me know what you did. We are already looking forward to another trip to the Smoky’s!
